i know it’s wrong but i can’t help it… need to make a list

Whipup recently wrapped a contest to give away copies of Listography, catering to the obsessive compulsion behind many crafter’s work ethic.

One entered the contest by leaving a list of 5 guilty pleasures in the comments section. Most people said things like chocolate, television, etc, but I thought some of the winning lists were pretty funny.

I especially like the one about picking things up with toes because sometimes I do that too. But without guilt! In fact, i have a hard time coming up with things I do for fun that I also feel guilty about; that just isn’t how the old brainimal works. The list of guilty-making activities that are also fun is quite short as well.

But for the sake of list-making…

1. Sleeping on the couch/loveseat/futon when there’s a perfectly good (adult-sized) bed available in the next room. Also have a propensity for squeezing two into small spaces like twin beds and junior tents, but that is more of an athletic challenge. Up next: sleeping two in a drawer.

2. Feeling unreasonably smart when I realize that the person I am talking to knows less about the topic than me. It doesn’t happen often, since I know a little about a lot, but my enjoyment of Sharing Knowledge is disproportionately large relative to my love of learning. Although they say one learns best when explaining…

3. Dating only ultimate players.

4. Impulsively cutting my hair, only guilty-making because while the haircuts are more fun than a barrel of monkeys, they are usually terrible, as if an actual barrel of monkeys had taken scissors to my head.

5. Skipping real-life stuff to play ultimate which only occasionally has repercussions–for example the time I got canned for wanting to take 2.5 days off and go to Nationals. Well, it was my first Nationals and that job sucked anyway, so I don’t feel too bad.
